We’re building AI tools for African education.
Datatechniques Limited is a Lagos-based technology company. Our first product, Alama, gives teachers and examiners back the time they spend marking.
Our story
Every term, teachers across Nigeria carry home piles of scripts and spend weekends marking them. Results arrive late, marks vary between examiners, and there’s rarely a written reason behind a score.
Computer-based testing has sped up objective questions, but written answers still depend on a person with a red pen. We started Alama to change that, without taking the final decision away from teachers.
The name means “mark” in Hausa and Swahili.
